UNDERSTAND THE RECORD
Field ET describes measured water loss from the crop and soil. Reference ETo describes atmospheric demand over a reference surface. Their ratio is a comparison, not an automatic irrigation recommendation.
Each valid 30-minute rate (mm/hour) is multiplied by 0.5 hours. Negative flux is set to zero for the displayed water-use sum; signed net ET is included in the CSV. Missing readings remain missing. Incomplete days are marked in the chart and can be excluded with the coverage control.
These records are not gap-filled or energy-balance corrected. Numeric fluxes with QC flags 0–2 are retained by default; counts of flag-2 observations are included in downloads. A complete day describes coverage, not scientific validation.
Collection is scheduled hourly. The page checks for published observations every five minutes while open. Connectivity and source processing can delay readings. Daily CIMIS ETo generally follows the observation day.
Reference pairings and station coordinates follow the supplied project configuration and should be reviewed by the network manager.
